Poetry and the visual arts are first cousins
What they share at their core is image, and a visual or verbal lyric that inspires, elevates and transports—to shift the observer’s perspective, whether incrementally or all at once, to perceive a more inclusive and expansive reality.
The image at its best invokes deep silence, a brief succession of the rationale and logical, where the mind stops its distracting thrumming and the perceiver sees only the pure, undefined subjectivity of the object.
